brass envy: urban outfitters

1 | 2 | 3

These lights are right up my street. I love the simple design and the fact that they could easily add the wow factor to any old room. Fuss free and low-costing, these brass beauties are available to buy from Urban Outfitters; The only downside? They're only available on the USA site *brings out worlds smallest violin* I'll forever want more things off the states site then our own (does anyone else feel the same or is it just me?) so for now I'll admire them from afar and add it to the wish list.

lets get planning

We're being graced with bright blue skies, a glorious winter sun and puddles of hale which I like to imagine is snow but deep down, I know it's a little early for that. Its fair to say I can not get enough of this time of year - some people are summers biggest fan but me, I'm pretty sure A/W was made for me. I think there's something very special about winter and the effect it has on us. For me it's those crisp winter days where you can layer up, wear gorgeous big coats and just indulge - whats not to love about that? And don't even get me started on woodland walks, call me a geek but I enjoy seeing a robin or two this time of year, you could possibly whisper *nature nerd* for all I care, it makes my little heart flutter.

A/W really brings out the festivity in me and later on today I'm going to write a (note to self - realistic) list of things I want to do before the year ends: things I've put off during previous years, or even something as silly as painting my nails or trying out a new recipe -  I'll write them down and actually look forward to achieving these little goals I set myself. Basically I think we all need a push sometimes and us as humans, we just wait around and put everything off until last minute aka never at all so I guess my quote of the day is to 'just get on with it' or 'go with your gut' and do all those things we should of done last week/month/year, afterall resolutions shouldn't just be for New Years.

I'd love to know if anyone else is making the most out of the year we have left, small or big, leave a comment and warm us all with your goodness.

p.s if you've made it this far, ta very much - you're a star

life lately

Life lately has been hectic and full of work work work but you know what, I wouldn't have it any other way because it makes you appreciate your time/money/food/bed/alone time etc that little bit more. This time last year we were in completely different places and now we're both in full time work, we can survive better and actually be grateful that we struggled because as cheesy as it is, it's pretty much made us who we are today. Go us aha

This summer has too of been the most enjoyable one since school. its fair to say me and hot weather haven't always gotten on but I also have to say that I've had a huge lifestyle change over the past year which has fortunately changed me for the better, so I've appreciated the hot weather like any other Brit would - moany one minute and happy the next (its only right eh?)
so as the summer abruptly comes to an end, we say goodbye to warm nights, blue skies and barely any clothes and a iyaaaa to september, the wonderful month full of dull weather, gorgeous new coats and a chilly breeze. A/W is definitely my favourite time of year so I welcome it with a humongous hug and a "what took you so long?" whisper. Bring. It. On.

and on that note I'm off to buy my first jumper of the year and look at sharks, enjoy your week everyone.

monochrome wishing

admittedly, i am still l.o.v.i.n.g monochrome, i just cant get enough of it so this wishlist is as easy as they come! ive had my eye on this cami from river island for ages now, its such a easy piece to wear and at £15 i should, shouldn't i really? aha i'm not so much into 'trends' i'm more into being comfortable and confident, to me that's what it's all about! i'm slightly in love with this jacket (the photo doesn't do it any justice!), bag and pair of boots from next right now, i might have to take the plunge with my birthday money and treat myself right.. i know the jacket and boots will be perfect for the upcoming months too, it's all about investment pieces and staying warm yet still looking fab! and on that note - i cant believe its 4 months until the *gasps* C word! (i am so excited!) i think its time to start saving...

what do you think? are there any trends you're loving at the moment?
